Gadget was found all alone on the side of the road to Fort George in the middle of a storm. He was terribly malnourished and sick, but sweet and affectionate right from the start. We took him in, nursed him back to health, and now that he’s made a full recovery,...
Smokki was rescued from the Vis town dump along with her sister Sooti. We’re familiar with the Wellington colony, so when we saw some fresh new kittens with no mum in sight, we assumed they’d been dumped. We wanted to offer them a chance at a better...
Sassy by name and nature, this little pirate needed her left eye removed due to illness. Curious and outgoing, she loves to hunt and climb trees. She’s bonded with her sister Roo, so we’d really like for them to be adopted together. Both are...
Roo is a little pirate: her right eye needed to be removed due to illness, but that doesn’t stop her. She has an adventurous personality, and loves to hunt and climb trees. She’s bonded with her sister Sassy, so we’d really like for them to be...
When we found little Maki, his right eye was badly damaged due to illness and needed to be removed. He’s currently being fostered, has a quiet, gentle personality and gets along well with other cats. Contact us if you’re interested in adopting this little...
We first met Tomina in October of 2018. She was small and quite wild back then, scavenging from rubbish bins outside of Tommy (the big supermarket on Vis). We started feeding her, and over time she began to trust us. She was sterilized in 2020, as you can see from the...
Calli lives at the Vis town dump now. Even though she doesn’t look old, she has no teeth. She was sterilized recently and is super friendly: we suspect she was dumped at the dump. Having to forage for scraps of food in piles of smelly trash or catch rats and...
Tommo is a street cat who loves attention, but his neighborhood is increasingly hostile to cats and he’s in danger of being poisoned if he stays where he is. He needs a safe home, either indoors or out. Contact us if you’re...
Patsy lives on the street now, but she was fostered indoors for awhile in 2019 when she needed help with a wound that had become infected. She’s all better now, but her neighborhood is hostile to cats and she’s in danger of being poisoned if she stays...
As of February 2020, street cat sterilization is funded by the town of Vis. We always need donations for other veterinary expenses such as exams, medications, veterinary-prescribed food and equipment to help us save lives.
Donations will never be used to pay anyone for their time: this is an all-volunteer project. We only aim to cover our out-of-pocket expenses.
