Prin was born and raised on a very busy road where his mother and one of his siblings lost their lives, hit by cars. Prin’s fate was different: he was savagely attacked (by a dog, we think) and his tail was bitten so badly that it had to be amputated. He suffered extensive nerve damage and had a long road to recovery, first at the vet’s, then on our land. It took months before he could walk normally again, but now he gets around just fine, albeit without a tail.

Prin currently lives in a colony with many other cats, but he’s struggled to find his place. In the early days, he was easily bullied and chased away, but over time he’s become more confident and now holds his ground. We think he might enjoy being the only pet in your household, but he could probably adapt to another cat if the introduction were done slowly. If you’d like to adopt him with another cat from our land, we’ll find you a good match.

Because white-eared cats are susceptible to skin cancer, it would be best for Prin to live mostly indoors, avoiding bright sunshine. Do you live in a gloomy climate? Perfect! If you have a catio, that would be a plus. Prin isn’t cuddly, but he deserves a loving home after all he’s gone through. Once he gets to know you, he’ll be a loyal and attentive companion.

To submit a request for adoption in Germany, fill out the adoption request (they refer to him as “Prince”) and someone from Nordic Strays will contact you. Also, there was a mix-up and they got Prin’s story wrong: he was NOT hit by a car. Vet thinks it was a dog bite that cost him his tail.
