Helping People Help Cats

Street Cats of Vis is a non-profit organization that relies on donations and volunteers to help people help street cats on the island of Vis, in Croatia. We believe that caring for community cats needs to be a community effort, and we aim to educate people about how they can do small things that make a difference for the health and welfare of street cats, as well as the importance of stabilizing the population through sterilizing.

You can help

Rescue

People contact us about street cats that need help and we take the steps necessary to help them. This usually means getting them to a vet on Vis or in Split, providing treatment, feeding and after-care.

Foster

Sick or injured street cats may need special attention that can only be given in a controlled environment. We cultivate a network of people who can help by providing a temporary safe space and loving care.

Sterilize

Sterilization helps stabilize the population of street cats. Do you know of a cat who needs to be sterilized? The town of Vis is now funding this, so just contact us and we can make it happen.

Adopt

Once former street cats have been given medical care if needed, have been sterilized and house-trained, they’re ready for adoption. We can help you through the adoption process for any destination in Europe. To see who’s currently available for adoption, click on the ADOPT link in our menu.

Get involved

Whether you’re on Vis and want to meet up or would like to support us from afar, we’d love to hear from you!
