Street Cats of Vis : Helping People Help Cats

What to do if you come across a cat in distress? If you have time to stay with the cat until you can get help, that would be good. If the cat is so badly injured it can’t move, it would be good to try and place it in some kind of temporary safe space, making sure it has water and is kept warm.

Next, try contacting the vet, or Francesca. Photos or videos of the cat, as well as your exact location on google maps, will help whoever responds to understand what’s going on, and to find the cat if you’re not able to bring it to them.

Vet Vision operates from their Vis clinic in Mali samogor : 098 392 770 / 021 384 600. They’re usually open on Wednesday evenings and Thursday mornings, and in summer they’re sometimes open Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings.

If they’re not able to help, you can contact Francesca at +64 21 254 5618 (WhatsApp), or +385 95 5393 121. She’s our emergency first responder, but please be aware that she’s not available 24/7. Leave a message if she doesn’t answer, and she’ll reply as soon as possible.
